Cynthia Templin

May 3, 1940 — March 31, 2023

Cynthia A. Templin, 82, passed away March 31, 2023 in Hendersonville, TN following an extended illness.  Born May 3, 1940 in Crawfordville, IN, the daughter of Walter and Carolyn Bayles, both preceding her in death.
Cynthia graduated from Kokomo High in 1958.  She married Larry G. Templin (deceased) on March 20, 1959 and together they raised 4 children.  They owned and operated the Stanley’s Department Store in downtown Kokomo.  They were members of St. Luke’s United Method Church where they were active in the FA-HO-CHA Sunday School Class.

Cynthia was a devoted wife supporting her husband’s passion for basketball.  So much so they spent their honeymoon at a Championship high school basketball game in Indianapolis, IN and didn’t even have seats together as she would laugh about for years.   She was very active in raising her children, participating in PTA and as a swim team Mom.  Cynthia loved animals, especially cats and dogs.  She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and Genealogy but most of all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In 1986 the family moved to Cape Coral, FL for sunshine and better weather.  They enjoyed their time together in Florida very much.

Cynthia enjoyed a career in Fort Myers, FL in Community Association Management, often talking about the lives of the communities she helped during her profession.  In 2007, after the death of her husband Larry, Cynthia moved to Tennessee to be near her son, Kirk.  She was a member of McKendra United Methodist Church in Portland, TN.  She took pride in her church memberships and in the CBN Club.

Cynthia is survived by her son Kirk of Portland, TN and daughter Deborah (Scott) Bean of Monticello, FL; brother-in-laws Philip (Barbara) Templin and Noalus, Templin, Jr. (Butch); grandchildren Christopher Beer, Shelby and Bryce Templin, Dr. Lindsey (Alex) Ferko, Kenneth Ellis, III, Katherine Ellis, Jacob and Kaylie Bean; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Cynthia was very excited when she learned she would soon be a Great Grandmother!  It was a very joyful thought for her before her passing.

Along with her late husband and parents, Cynthia was also preceded in death by her sister Miriam (Midge) and brother-in-law David Magart , brother-in-law Ronald Templin, daughters Susan Beer and Kathy Huffman and grandson Hunter Huffman; in-laws Noalus and Georgia Templin, Sr.  Cynthia was very much looking forward to the celebration awaiting in heaven with all of her departed loved ones.

Cynthia’s wishes are to be cremated and her ashes be buried alongside her husband and daughters at Albright Cemetery in Kokomo, IN.
Donations can be made in Cynthia’s memory to the Humane Society in celebration of her love of animals or to the Christian Broadcasting Network in honor of her love for Jesus.
