Brenda F. Powell Hyder, 73, of Camden, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, in Camden. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, at 1 p.m., at Chalk Level Baptist Church, located at 120 Shiloh Church Rd. in Camden with Gerald Prior officiating. Family and friends are welcome to attend the service.
Mrs. Hyder was born Oct. 12, 1944, in Trezevant, to the late Mary and Robert Powell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hyder, a son, Thomas Smith, Jr., and two brothers, Tommy and James Powell.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane Smith (Monty Lynch), of Nashville; three brothers, Jerry Powell, of Paris, John (Lynn) Powell, of Madison, and Sammy (Kay) Powell, of Troy; a sister, Dean White, of Millington; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
