Sharon Haynes

Sharon R Haynes of Old Hickory, TN Sharon was born in Spokane, WA on September 13, 1949. Sharon was a loving mother, grandma, sister, niece, cousin and friend. After a courageous, 4-month battle with cancer, Sharon went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on January 12, 2020. Sharon had a smile that would light up the room. She was the type of person who never met a stranger and had a generous heart for all those she loved. A few of her favorite things included photography, baking, crafting, playing cards, spending time with family and helping others. Growing up, Sharon was a proud Air Force brat and lived in Japan, Morocco and Spain before her family settled in Clarksville, TN in the early 60's. She graduated from Clarksville High School in 1968 and studied at Austin Peay State University. Sharon had a tremendous impact on youth bowling in the 1980's while she was the Youth Director of Madison Bowl. Sharon worked for years in customer service, which included employment with Photo Mart, Gaylord Entertainment and Wal-Mart. She spent 16 years in various positions within Wal-Mart and had tremendous adoration for her Wal-Mart family.Sharon will be greatly missed by her surviving family and spouses including, daughters Sandra Sears-Wiley (Eric), Lena Brown Veasey (Wayne); 4 grandchildren Shalyn, Brooklyn, Kaitlyn (DJ) and Wayne Jr.; 2 great grandchildren Mia and Sam; sister Peggy Truxton (Otis), brother Noble "Butch" Ozment and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Tommy Haynes, mother Alta D Ozment, father Walter J Ozment Jr, baby brother Walter J Ozment III.The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Waterford Clubhouse 1737 Merritt Street Old Hickory, TN 37138. Visitation is from 12:00 PM through 4:00 PM. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 PM presented by Tony Dye, minister and friend.Flowers are welcomed, or you may choose to consider a memorial donation to The Shriners Hospital or St. Jude's.
