John (Jay) Franklin Morris, 71 of Mt. Juliet, born May 2, 1946 in Fairmont, WV, passed away March 20, 2018 in Nashville, TN after a brief battle with cancer.
A Graduate of Reynoldsburg High School, Reynoldsburg, OH, John served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 - 1968.
He received a BA Cum Laude & MA from California State University Long Beach.
John performed for many years as a solo acoustic singer/songwriter. Toured
Many years in Community theaters working with the late comedian/actor Shelly Berman.
John is preceded in death by his Parents Joseph Franklin and Joyce June (Waggy) Morris,
As well as sister Frances Jo (Morris) Canfield.
Survivors include Brothers Joe Morris, Paul C. Morris and Jim Smyth. Sisters Sharron (Morris) Floyd and Mary (Morris) Gage.
The family would like to thank the staff of Alive Hospice of Nashville and TriStar Cremation for their kindness and guidance throughout the process.
A gathering of family and friends will be held in WV at a date to be announced.
