John W.
Liska, Jr. was born on July 5, 1937 to John and Florence Liska in Akron, Ohio. He attended Cuyahoga Falls High School and graduated in 1955. He obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry from Kenyon College in 1959. He later went on to
obtain his PhD in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University.
He enjoyed a long career in chemical sales with Ciba -Geigy. He was most proud of his volunteer work with Junior Achievement, Kiwanis and Habitat for Humanity. He loved fixing things,
trouble-shooting and teaching the rest of us how to do things. He is survived by his wife, Shirley. She was his companion in life for the last 36 years. His daughters, Sherry Lane and Catherine
Liska, step children, Brad (Amanda) Peterson, Tracey (David) Noble, and Troy (Heather) Peterson will miss all of his advice. He was Papa to Ryan, McKenzie, Payton, Clara (Cassandra), Clio, Brady, Lindsey, Lydia, Olivia, Monica, Maggie, Rosie, Ava, Will and Wyatt. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy (Dick) Hunter,
cousins and multiple nieces and nephews. John passed away on Monday, October 23rd after a few short
days in hospice and many weeks in the hospital battling leukemia. It was John's desire to not have a funeral but to have his ashes laid to rest at Kenyon College Nature Preserve, his beloved alma mater.
