David Lee

October 22, 1955 — October 10, 2017

Mike, age 61, passed away peacefully October 10, 2017 due to cancer. He was born October 22, 1955 in Pineville, Kentucky to Grant and Annette Lee. He married Debbie on June 10, 1977. Mike served the Lord over 45 years with the North American Mission Board, Lifeway, Michigan Baptist State Convention, and Illinois Baptist State Convention. He also served as pastor of Valley Creek Baptist Church in Leonard, TX, Columbia Avenue Baptist Church in Pontiac, MI, Grace Church in Jackson, MI, Eastwood Baptist Church in Bowling Green, KY, and his most recent title was Headmaster of Mt. Juliet Christian Academy and Administrative Pastor of First Baptist Church Mt. Juliet.
Mike was passionate about many things, but most of all his desire to honor and serve the Lord. He loved to see life change happen in people and see them grow into the person God desired for them to be.
Mike loved spending time with his family. Before his passing one thing he kept encouraging his family to do was "stay together". He thought the most important thing in life, other than Jesus, was family. He conveyed this message as he reflected on the truths his grandchildren taught him over the years. This later translated into "Pap's Passages".
Mike will be missed, but we know he is completely healed and with Jesus.
There will be two services held to celebrate his life. One will be on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at FBC Mt. Juliet in Mt. Juliet, TN. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm and the service will follow at 5:30 pm. The other service will be on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Grace Church in Jackson, MI.
