Cedar Hill, TN

Carlene Elizabeth Day, 84, of Cedar Hill, TN, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 13, 1939, in Kennebunkport, Maine, Carlene was the daughter of the late Carlton and Geneva Goulden. She graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1957 and went on to attend Northeastern Business School, graduating in 1959.

Carlene worked mostly in secretarial and administrative positions throughout her career until her retirement. She was a hardworking and dedicated employee, always willing to lend a helping hand to her colleagues.

In her free time, Carlene loved to sing and was known for her beautiful voice. She also enjoyed watching Dr. Pol and NCIS. Her favorite saying was "That's different," and she never let physical challenges get in her way. Carlene was always on the go and was proud of her children and grandchildren.

Carlene is survived by her daughter, Erica, and son-in-law, John Weyers, of Cedar Hill, TN, as well as her grandson, Eben Weyers, also of Cedar Hill. She is also survived by her grandson, Arlis Weyers, and his wife, Daniela Garcia, of Germany, her sons, Mark Day and Wayne (Lisa) Day, her granddaughters, Jamie Day Boynton, Kylie Day, and MacKenzie Day, and her brother, Gerald (Evelyn) Goulden, all of York County, Maine. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and her dearest friend, Diana Abbott.

Carlene was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Geneva Goulden, her brother, Perry Goulden, and her husband of over 53 years, Alan M. Day.

Carlene will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on through the love she shared with her family and friends.
