Arlene Myrick

Arlene Mae Myrick passed from this Earth on January 13, 2022 at age 95.  She was born in Topeka, Kansas on October 31, 1926 to Ernest J. Simmons and Iva Mae Simmons (Butler), the youngest of twin girls.  She attended Topeka schools graduating from Topeka High School.  She worked at Ed Marlings stores for several years and the Gas Service Company.  She retired from Weststar and worked with the Kansas State Legislature after retiring.

She married Harold E. Myrick on December 8, 1946 in Topeka.  He preceded her in death.  Also preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister and a Grandson, Jeffery Carl Myrick.

She is also survived by two sons, Harold (Mike) Myrick Jr. (Steve) of Nashville, TN, and Thomas (Tom) Myrick (Norrice) of El Paso, TX.  Three grandchildren, Chris Myrick of North East, MD, Derek Myrick of Denver and Andrea Findley of Denver, and three step-grandchildren.  23 Great -Grandchildren  and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren.  A host of other family members and friends.

Mrs. Myrick was cremated.  Memorial Services are planned for June 7, 2022 at Topeka Cemetery.  The family has requested no flowers be sent.  Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society in Topkea, KS, or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
